Global Power Balance Shifts
As the U.S. and U.K. retreat from the global stage, Germany, France, and China lead
January 24, 2018. Davos. – Increased understanding of how political leaders and corporations engage in global cooperation regarding the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can help improve leadership around the world. This, according to new research from Media Tenor International presented today at the World Economic Forum in its Global Agenda Index 2018.
“Brexit in the U.K. and the first year of Trump’s presidency in the U.S. have highlighted isolationist tendencies around the world,” says Roland Schatz, founder and CEO of Media Tenor. “This has pushed other global powerhouses – such as China, France, and Germany – into leadership positions regarding global wellbeing, peace, and cooperation.”
At Media Tenor’s SDG Lab at the World Economic Forum experts will discuss the impact and opportunities created by these trends. The speakers include former U.S. ambassador James D. Bindenagel; chairman of ROSC Global, Dr. Mark Fuller; Dr. Liliana Dana Viasu of the Institute of Virusology in Romania; Christian von Reventlow, CPIO of Deutsche Telekom; and the mayor of Heidelberg, Dr. Eckart Würzner.
